DIME LIFTERS PALM OF MY HAND

The latest single from Dime Lifters is an industrial-influenced no-wave track that oozes with attitude. Grinding percussion opens ‘Palm Of My Hand’ with an almost bleak, menacing feel, before flute melodies add something almost folky and uplifting. It’s a unique juxtaposition that is only exacerbated by the semi-spoken vocals that join, and the jarring metallic sound effects that linger in the background. On the track’s background, the Toronto duo say: “This song was written on a night that [we] spent stranded in the French Alps in the autumn of 2020. We were holed up in a small villa that a friend graciously lent us to be ‘creative’ for a few days. Unfortunately, up there we encountered what the mountain locals have since coined ‘the storm of 100 years’.” Be sure to check out Dime Lifters’ past work. -Dan Peeke.
